"Crest" makes something called WhiteStrips, available in the US. They are
like clear bandaids that you wear on your teeth for 1/2 hour twice a day.
The ingredients are Purified Water, Glycerin, Hydrogen Peroxide, Carbopol
946, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Sodium Stannate. Probably
not the best stuff for the health of your teeth/mouth.
They can make your teeth/gums temporarily sensitve, but I think all of the
peroxide products for this purpose do the same. You're supposed to skip a
day or so if this happens.
BTW, they work quite well :()

I'm sure this is the case. Even beneficial materials shouldn't be in the
mouth for the entire night. There are some products that require use every
day (don't know what they are offhand), and if they are safe they should do
the trick.
