Julie, Like you, I love the herbs. I have read sim ilar accounts on the antibacterial action of Oregano Oil. Most of these organic oils. I have seen , sell for $11 an ounce (US) on the internet. I would be interested in reading some more research on it.
BTW, I have found it true, that the mere rubbing on fresh herbs, like sage, and oregano, does repell germs, and insects, and works well for me, in keeping my childrens hands clean, during the summer. Our scratches, and cuts, and insects bites, rabbit scratches, splinters, all respond well with the friction of sage leaves. i found a new way of living, would you members, use CS for any of these situations? I like the convenience (9n summer) of grabbing a few leaves from the plant. busy mamma Paula ----- Original Message ----- i From: wolfcreek1 To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, October 11, 2001 12:58 PM Subject: Re: CS>Oregano Oil May Protect Against Drug-Resistant Bacteria List: Synergy with CS???? Roger Roger, My essential oils desk references states: "Oregano (Origanum compactum) - Action: Powerful anti-infectious agent (for respiratory, intestines, genital, nerves, blood, and lymphatics) with large-spectrum action against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungus, virus, and parasites. It is a general tonic and immune stimulant. Indications: Asthma, bronchitis (chronic), mental disease, pulmonary tuberculosis, rheumatism (chronic), and whooping cough. Other Uses: This oil may help respiratory infections, digestion problems, balance metabolism, viral and bacterial pneumonia, respiratory system problems, and strenghten the vital centers. Application: Apply topically neat to bottom of feet. Mix with massage oil if applying elsewhere on the skin. May be used undiluted in Raindrop Therapy. Add to food or water as a dietary supplement or flavoring. Safety Data: If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Skin test for sensitivity. Companion Oils: Basil, fennel, geranium, lemongrass, myrtle, pine, rosemary, and thyme." I would consider diffusing tea tree and/or lavendar as well for their ability to promote tissue regeneration and speed in wound healing properties. Julie & Critters
