Morning Terry,

>>When you use the phone line power, does it interfere
with your phone useage?

I have not verified this. I have 3 lines. One is used for modem and fax only.

I am not too careful of which line I use. If it make it inoperative for a short time, no problem for me.

Do you get a phone line
splitter and a phone plug, and run wires from it to
your CS brewing? I can see how this would be a simple
setup.

Yes, I have the splitters plugged in most places for all the many phone line gadgets I use.

I build the whole thing into one of the small square surface phone terminal blocks. Then I simply use a typical phone patch cord to connect it to the phone. I install 1 led, 1 resistor, and the full wave bridge in the small block.

It is a bit of trouble getting everything in there. The leads with the alligator clips come out the side opposite the plug.

You just gave me a new idea ! I could make another arrangement of the wiring and get 104 VDC or maybe even 156 VDC all from my phone lines. <grin> On second thought..... I don't think I can series all these because of the mechanical location of the source. ( it is a long ways downtown )

I doubt that any of the lines will work when connected in this arrangement.

Of course I don't need to do this because I get all the junk batteries from my alarm business and have them charging on a work bench. Plus, I have power supplies of all types sitting around in my way.

I started making these phone line generators for the convenience of my friends.
