How is a full-wave different from a sine-wave? I had thought a full-wave WAS a sine-wave, a mountain peak followed by an equal valley. I thought a half-wave was a mountain peak followed by a flat plane (an AC that isn't allowed to change polarity, so the bottom valley is cut off). Also, I had understood that the molecules from the negative silver wire (anode) were attracted to the positive (cathode) wire? Isn't it the anode wire that gets thinner and thinner?
