Hi Karen, Red light works very well for soft tissue damage. A red low-power laser, as used for indicating on slide presentations, is good but take care not to shine in eyes. Safer and probably as good is a high powered red LED light. CS should soothe. Massage is almost essential to bring fresh body fluids to the site for healing. But massage is tricky if there are open wounds, so get the skin closed up as fast as you can. Also anything that will strengthen and vitalise the skin, Vit A and D and linseed and fresh, raw veggies.
