Subject: CS>ADVICE ON MIXING..PLEASE

> Hello all,

> I have sent a message out twice under "magnetic mixing pros/cons"
with no responses. Maybe there were too many questions. I'll try to keep
it short. I'm looking into using a magnetic stirrer/mixer while brewing CS.
Does anyone have any idea if the magnetic field would have a "negative"
effect on the formation of "positive" ionic silver production?

ANSWER: Magnetic fields do interact with electrical fields, and both will
be present. Whether or not it alters CS generation, I have no idea. But it
seems like an expensive way to go. Others report good success with an
acquarium air pump and bubbler to do the stirring - cost less than $10.
Others successfullyuse small motors with stirring paddles.

> Also, should I spend the extra for a hotplate mixer if only making
10-15ppm, or would this only make larger particles?

ANSWER: Ditto. Some report using a small light bulb under their brew
container for some thermal convection stirring. But then you lose some
repeatability by introducing another variable of unknown temperature
variations in the water. Just use simple stirring or air bubbling.

One more question, I can't help it, does mixing greatly lengthen the
process?

ANSWER: As best I can tell, yes if you use a constant voltage as it
prevents bridging and higher currents from flowing between the unstirred
electrodes - all of which are good. But no if you use the better method of
constant curent.
