If the container size and initial water temperature are the same, the
light bulb method of stirring via thermal currents is very repeatable.  The
bulb [5 or 7 watts, usually] always uses its rated power, in the same base,
under the same container.
 What is variable is the room temperature...which is variable with or
without doing thermal stirring.
 Thermal srirring is, however, slow. If the current is over , say, 1
ma...it might not be causing the water to move fast enough to keep the "ion
cloud" dissipating, thus limiting effectiveness of that stirring method.

 Moving the water too fast can cause other problems.
 Experiment. Everyones set up is different.
