Dear List -- This post indicates using one ounce of CS to one
gallon of water for root rot. I am interested in preserving the
needles of Xmas trees as mentioned in previous posts from
4 weeks to 4 months. I was told by one of the commercial
people that all the water in the tree base should be 100% CS.
Is this true? Or can you use maybe 25% CS? And must it
be diluted in Distilled Water or can you use regular water in
the Xmas tree base????? Gladys

Marshall- I add the Cs to a SOLO backpack 4 gallon sprayer mixed usually
with Malthion and regular water. Then I spray the needles of the tree or
the root area and trunk if the tree has a root rot. Usually I mixed 4
ounces of Cs to the 4 gallon tank.
