Greetings Pam,

I have and they're fine. They eventually tend to rust, though, in my
experience, so be prepared to buy new lids from the canning section at
your hardware store every once in a great while. <shrug>

Nowadays I've followed Ol' Bob's advice and am keeping my surplus in
clear plastic pop bottles that have been thoroughly cleaned out, or in
bottles water bottles that are already pretty clean to start with.

With cruder varieties of CS, particularly that made with saline or salt
starter, you're looking at some sensitivity to light that can cause
precipitation, perhaps. With the light yellow to clear stuff made with
distilled water only, that's less of an issue apparently.

Again, Ol' Bob has torture tested some of his highly ionic, smaller
particle stuff made by various methods and hasn't seen any fallout or
drop in concentration from light exposure.

Maybe you don't want to put it on the windowsill in august, but normal
care and handling ought not present a problem.

Perfectly excellent questions, Pam. We all need to know "enough" to
feel we're ready to get started.

Be well,

Mike D.
