Hi Leo, First off you will need to find a piece of aluminum bar stock 1/2" X 1" X 3 5/8". That is to be cut in to two equal pieces at a 50 deg. angle on the 1" surface. I will send a sketch as there is a lot of machining to be done on it. Each piece will be taped 3/8" x 16 X 1" long, 2 #10 X 24 taped holes, and 1 #10 X 32. There will be 2- 3/8" X 16 brass bolt 1" long that are drilled and taped lengthwise to 1/4" X 28. This bolt head with be cross drilled and taped for a #6 nylon machine screw. There will be 2- 1/4" X 28 X 1" brass bolts that are drilled lengthwise with a #38 drill bit. This bolt head will be cross drilled and taped for a #6 nylon machine screw. This 1/4" bolt will be counter bored on the threaded end with a #7 drill. This MUST be done on a lathe as it is for the alignment of the gold electrodes.
You will need two pieces of pyrex glass tubing 2 mm X 4 mm as these are the insulating sleeves in which the "composite" gold electrode goes. I say composite electrode as one only needs one piece 1" long and one piece 2" long soldered on to the end of 3/32" brazing rod. You cannot use glass it will shatter (been there done that). CG must be vigorously stirred, no bubbling crap. It also works best if you can cool the DW during the process. I use a canning kettle to hold the one gallon poly carbonate container and 16 pounds of ice. One of the 1/4" bolts need an insulating knob on the bolt head so that arc adjustments can be made with power on (ouch) I will draw up this and scan it for you. At the present I am using a CO2 generator (dry ice container), but will be looking at an argon ambient. With the CO2 the pH of the CS is around 3. With argon it should be about 6. With argon there will be considerable expense. Tank, regulator and a flow meter to set it at about 2 CFM. This will get you started.. One more thing do not trust the manufacture of the transformer to have wired it correctly. Test it before the final connection to the secondary is made. If any doubts let me know.
