EDTA is a bivalent synthetic amino acid that has a great affinity for metals. The plaque in the blood vessels is a build up of calcium atoms and lipoproteins and plaque. The calcium has a valence that latches on to the plaque floating in the blood stream. The process continues and looks a lot like a water pipe that has a heavy lime deposit in it.
The EDTA will bond to the calcium molecule and when it does the plaque and lipoproteins float free and are put up in the liver.
