As I mentioned the other day, I'm seeing a lot of virus activity. HOWEVER, I haven't seen anything transmitted by the silver list.
Has anybody actually gotten a live virus from a message that was forwarded by the silver list this week? There might be some false positives with certain anti-virus programs, because the attachment filters for the list remove the guts of the attachment but still leave the "envelope". If your AV software detects that, rather than the code of the worm, it might trigger. However, I'm not even seeing that happen, as the worm that's going around right now is so big it gets rejected by the message size limit before even getting to the attachment filters. What's happening, though, is the worm is sending itself to everybody in the victim's address book or recent e-mails, so a lot of this is probably going direct between list members who've exchanged private messages recently. Let me know what you're seeing folks. Privately would be better.
