Tried my first CS makeing. Kens posts on color and current helped. Still
need some expert opinion on result.

Equipment is toy train speed control ( found in thrift store for $1.20)
claims 16 volts DC but produces 17.6 at all speed settings. Controls current
flow. Coins 3/4 way into water set at 1 inch for first batch 3ma in quart
jar. 2 1/2 hours. Stirring with bubbler. Not perfectly clear with strong TE,
definite taste. Some black particles in bottom of jar.

Changed to gallon ice tea bottle, about 3/4 full, same settings, ran for 6
hours. got brown color, strong taste, strong TE. Lot of black clumps in
bottom of jar.

Read Kens post that 1 5/8" spacing and low current flow was the way.
Increased coin spacing to about the 1 5/8" and set current to 1ma. Ran for 4
hours, clear with week TE and taste. 6 or 8 small black particles in bottom
of jar.

Current flow was stable once set, never varied with increase in silver.
Seems that speed control gives constant current.

My guess is first was close, second particles much to big and last is mostly
ions. Is the ion one of any use.

Welcome any comments.
