That is true if he is loading into a resistor. However, the coil will be an inductor, and the current profile of an inductor is t*V/L. Assuming negligable resistnace the peak current will be 70.7%higher if you double the capacitor. The pulse duration will also be 70.7% higher. The rise time will be 70.7% longer, but the rate of rise in flux per second on the leading edge will be unchanged, it would require increasing the voltage to increase that. Of course that is assuming the same coil. If one wants to maintain the same timing and only increase the peak amplitude, then they could double the capacitance, and remove about 30% of the winding on the coil, replacing it with wire two guages higher, and double the amplitude of the magnetic field, yet have virtually the same pulse profile and width. > > 3) You use "PAYPAL".
