Morning Terry,
The wires are 14 gauge, 8" wet, 5" apart.
I use 14 gauge also, and near the same length. However, my spacing is
closer, more like 2.5 inches.
My thinking is, that if you force 2.5 ma through 5.0 inches, it would be
near the same work dissipation as if you forced 5.0 ma and the spacing was
2.5 inches.
I think the spacing will effect the start time, how long to reach 1 ma, 1.5
ma and 2.0 ma, ect.
Surely someone has measured the current with 2.0 inch spacing, then 3.0,
then 4.0, and 5.0 to see the effect.
Possibly I am on the wrong track, and something I am not aware of effects
all this.
If no one else had done this and cannot offer a clarification, then I will
do some testing along these line.
