I haven't actually measured their light output, but I'm guessing that each of the individual LEDs in the array could be over 5,000 mcd -- they aren't small indicator-type LEDs. I suppose these BG parts could be derated since the draw only 90 and 120 mA at 12 volts. This is in contrast to their small infrared illuminator that appears to draw 3.6 Amps at 12 volts. I have some high power red LEDs sitting around. I'll replace the LEDs in a small BG unit and measure the difference (I have no idea how to get a baseline red light sample to calibrate my light meter -- so I can only measure the difference in power). Thanks for the rest of the info. Do you have any references handy about the studies done on red and infrared light effects on the body? -- Dean -- from (almost) Des Moines -- KB0ZDF -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
