Hi Harold,

We had a couple of customers with the same problem. It turned out the problem
was the distiller wasn't working properly and some of the minerals came over
the helm with the condensate. Do you have a PWT meter? If so, what's the uS
reading? That will help you determine if the water is mineralized. It should
be under 2.0 uS.

Minerals in the water will make the CS cloudy.

Another possible situation is where the condenser is contaminated from the
factory. In that case just run a gallon of water through the distiller and it
will clean the condenser.

And of course, never use the carbon after-filter provided with some distillers.

Hope this helps.

Trem

  I am distilling my own water now and my first "brew" of CS has come out with
a smokey appearanc. My voltage is 25 VDC from a special Xformer thru a bridge
rectifier[not buffered with a capacitor].I start with 1ma[cheap multimeter from
Radio Shack];when current reaches 1.5ma the brew seems to be done. This setup
has worked well for me so far.Any thoughts on why the CS is smokey looking?
  Thanx in advance;
  Harold
