What kind of distilled water are you using that has chlorine in it? The "pre-filter" is probably introducing particulates. If I remember correctly, your PWT should have a reading that begins with a decimal point. Get some steam distilled water and try your PWT on that. Remember, only STEAM DISTILLED water.
