Hi All,

Anti-smell silver shirts going on sale in Germany

A German company is selling shirts made partly from silver which it
claims don't smell even if wearers sweat on them.

Silvertex GmbH from Neuenhagen near Berlin is making the shirts with a
5% silver content.

Scientists developed the shirts accidentally while researching
material to protect heart pacemakers from electromagnetic waves.

Company chief Detlef Militz told Berliner Zeitung: "Even after playing
badminton or riding my bike for hours, it still wouldn't smell."

The shirts made from thick cotton thread mixed with thin silver are
priced at 30 euros (about ?19). They're not available in the UK.

They go on sale next week in Germany and the company is hoping to
expand into Italy.

Mr Militz is also hoping to develop the material for sports clothes
and hospital linen. He added: "It could also be used for stockings and
shoe linings."
