Being very new to the world of CS, I cannot comment on its effectiveness against the human papilloma virus. However, anecdotally I can say that melaleuca oil (tea tree oil) is fairly effective in treating the external warts (as you probably know, there is supposedly no "cure" for HPV). Having been involved in the care of a number of HIV+ individuals through offering acupuncture treatments at no charge, seeing people with HPV is nothing new. There are obviously some very harsh chemical treatments that will eliminate the warts temporarily, but while it takes a bit longer, the melaleuca oil (in my experience) has been almost as effective. Unfortunately, the melaleuca (tea tree) oils that are available in health food stores are often of inferior quality. Many of them dont even list any sort of analysis of the product. You want to find an oil that has a minimum of 36% Terpinen 4-ol and a maximum of 5% Cineole. Saturated dressings held in place and changed several times a day, will typically elevate the warts (or dramatically lessen their size and appearance) within a week to 10 days. I would be very interested to hear if anyone has had any experience with CS and HPV. My suspicion is that attacking the HPV both internally with the CS, and externally with melaleuca oil would be a good way to combat the virus. Which brings me to thoughts for a new thread... Mike
