It occurred to me that people travelling in parts of the world with questionable water quality could make a battery powered "silver wand" that they could stir in drinking water to make it safe to drink. I've heard that in India it's common for dishonest restauranteurs to refill water bottles from the tap and sell it as bottled water. If used on a short-term basis there shouldn't be any problem from ingesting small amounts of impurely made CS. -- John A.
