I think it's a fantastic idea.
Cobble a switchable penlight or one of those laser thingies to put a two silver
pronged pronged  cell in the water. 
Real survival stuff. Even boost travel to Mexico. Affect a whole economy!

For the HV guys, replace the electrodes on a Stun gun with silver ones. Impress
your friends.
