That is 5 microsiemens, a measure of conductivity.

CS enthusiasts commonly use a $50 Hanna PWT tester to measure the
conductivity of distilled water and finished CS.

I don't know to what degree plasticky tasting water is unsafe, but who
wants to drink water that tastes plasticky? My advice is to dump it and
switch to a better brand. Or, better yet, get your own distiller so that
your DW doesn't have a chance to sit around picking up disagreeable
flavors.
