It is my understanding that all loops, spirals, etc. work this way. I don't think doctors hide this fact because my sister who is a reg. nurse told me about that, and she is not into challenging the mainstream medicine. Doctors are too arrogant to explain many things to their patients. Also, many patients are too dumb to even inquire.
