I was bitten twice by black widow spiders. The first time I knew I had been bitten and applied meat tenderizer (papain) immediately, with the result that there was practically no reaction at the wound site but I got sick the next day- nauseated, woozy, stomach cramps- and went to a hospital, had an IV and a muscle relaxant administered too rapidly in the IV that took care of it but burned my vein.
Second bite, I didn't realize I was bitten until the next day. I was in the middle of a long bicycle ride and managed to complete the ride with great effort by using prayer/singing healing songs to myself, so I wasn't as sick generally as the first time, but the bite started to ulcerate and necrose on the back of my knee. The next day my leg was getting swollen up and red, so I went to the doctor and was given an antibiotic and after a couple of days of pain and swelling I decided I had enough and got up and went out to work in my garden, and I was healed. Sometimes faith requires action. End of problem. Anyway, CS would probably take care of infection just great but would it have an effect internally or externally to neutralize protein in the way enzymes do? Neutralizing the protein-based venom works somewhat with spider bites as well as bee stings. I have also had success in a pinch besides meat tenderizer using fruit that contains proteolytic enzymes like Kiwis, papaya, and pineapple directly on a sting, and also I have used powdered digestive enzymes mixed with water.
