Do you suppose the contact time requirement was not met in swallowing the CS? I mean if you need say six minutes but the CS is down the hatch and rinsed out with saliva in two, there will be no effect. We're looking at essentially a surface infection here so we must have the contact time.
Perhaps one should try a CS with a higher degree of particles as opposed to ions for bowel problems. Alternatively, what we did when my wife got a viral flu in the bowel was get her to drink a quart and a half, as much as she could. That I think mechanically forced it further into the bowel because of the sheer volume. Rather than the six-day starve to clear it, she was better by morning. I say alternatively because my CS is primarily ionic. This approach may not be possible in animals so I suggested more particles to carry further down the bowel.
