A virus, such as a cold or flu can so blast your immune system, that you
become very susceptible to bacterial infections, such as pneumonia.  But
the virus itself doe not change into a bacteria.

You are correct that some virus are RNA and not DNA, but either way they
cannot convert into a bacteria.
