The 'tickle' I was talking about was not in my throat - it was in my chest. When I took a breath, it would make me cough a little from some kind of irritation that was happening. That was the 'tickle'. The inability to sing was not from mucus but because of the tickle in my chest. When you sing, you have to take big, deep breaths but when I breathed deeply I would cough, making it impossible to sing. I could only breath very shallow-ly to avoid coughing.
