OOPS......sorry Kathie, about the misspelling of your name. It's been a long day. ~:-}
I also realized that I didn't answer your basic question. Yes, CS will help with infections post transplant. I haven't found it to have any effect on my daughters rejection, except indirectly (by treating UTI's so they didn't damage the new kidney and begin rejection, etc.). The REALLY great news is that CS doesn't impact the anti-rejection drugs, nor does it boost the immune system and cause her body to reject the new organ. It has literally been a life-saver for her......inclusive of treating RSV and chicken pox......both potentially fatal in a transplant. Off to bed now............ Please feel free to contact me with any questions....... I have used homemade LVDC CS on her for the past 3 years, with some absolutely tremendous results. I am more than willing to share any information or experiences I have. Feel free to contact me offlist, and I can answer any questions that you may have in depth. God Bless you and your sister, during this trying time, Christiane ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, April 11, 2003 4:24 PM Subject: CS>CS and Kidney Transplants Does anyone here have information related to using CS before/after kidney transplant surgery? My sister will soon be placed on the transplant list with end stage renal failure...no dialysis yet... but that should begin very soon...close family members seem to have the same problem...it's genetic...and are not suitable donors...she may be on the waiting list for a while...she's 47...basically healthy otherwise...but has high blood pressure...it's controlled with medication and part of her kidney disease profile... Would CS help her fight infection/rejection...etc.? Thanks, Kathie
