I havent yet obtained a PWT, (pure water tester), and such a thing is surely needed. However at the start of a batch I always test the conductivity by noting the ma consumption by battery method, and the coin holder I use consistantly keeps the same distance at about 7/8 ths inch. Thus I can note from bottle to bottle any starting conductivity. I noticed that some bottles would record as high as 1.12 ma at start, but most of the time the range is between .92 ma and 1.05 ma. Now the current limiting system I use is calibrated by measuring the short that normally is set by variac to read 1.22 ma. When this is done and the coins immersed into the same consistant volume of water, I normally record a start voltage of 28-30 volts. Today I purchased 9 gallons of Wallmart distilled, the first tested bottled on 3/11/03, because now I have expanded this current limited resonance process to include many cells in parallel, having purchased 14 more .999 silver pieces at the coin store, and I was planning on making a lot of CS for a lot of freinds who are wanting it. The initial battery test at what is normally 19.6 volts showed 1.16 ma, but at a lower starting voltage. The voltage that developed at start from current limited resonance process was only 19 volts, when it is normally near 30 volts! So this is not very good distilled water at all! I will have to look for other suppliers, starting with Distillata, and then maybe Culligans. Perhaps I should of heeded the warnings of others who have stated that Wallmarts distilled varies greatly from one geographical area to another. I live in NE Ohio, so if any CS'ers are using Wallmarts brand in this area, dont buy a lot of bottles at one time like I did.
