I use over-the-counter hydrogen peroxide to clean my silver wires and my brewing glass between batches. The silver that's plated-out on the glass "dissolves" in a fizz of bubbles. Then I rinse the glass and the silver wires three times each in distilled water before starting over. This works very well for me. The peroxide is the best thing I've found to get the plating off.
