Jan,

Between batches of CS I use over-the-counter hydrogen peroxide to get the
silver plating off my brewing glass. I pour 1-2 oz in my glass and it fizzes
when it makes contact with the silver residue. I roll my jar around so the
peroxide comes in contact with every part of the inside of the glass, and
then I rinse 3X throughly with distilled water.

I use the peroxide to clean my silver wires too -- just let them roll
around while I'm cleaning the glass. Then I wipe them off and rinse them 3X
also.

No amount of washing with soap and hot water seems to do as thorough a job
as the peroxide.
