This shouldn't be a problem with the 'new' one.
Using a taller container and/or keeping the electrodes away from the
bottom usually eliminates plating on the bottom.
So does stirring.
As long as an ion pathway is not allowed to form low as slightly heavier
than water silver drops, plate out on the bottom won't happen. Keeping
electrodes some distance from the sides prevents plate out on the sides
when using the alligator clip method of electrode holding.
Any sort of stirring interrupts the formation of ion tracks and
pathways. It takes very little to distribute everything so it won't ever sink.

Help,
I'm having a problem with my beaker that has become "silver-plated." I
remember reading that this could cause a problem because the colloidal
silver particles become attracted to the plating instead of remaining
dispersed throught the water. I also remember that someone posted how to
clean the beakers or whatever container of this plating. I searched in the
archives but couldn't find it. Could someone please tell me the best way
to clean the container of this plating so I don't have a problem making my CS.?
Thanks, Jan Bolen
