Thats one of the strange things about diabetes. You get elevated blood
sugar in the morning. Some have theorized this is due to delayed stomach
emptying. That the diabetic goes to sleep with food in his stomach and the
lower sphincter is tightly closed so the food stays there till morning when
it finally relaxes releasing the contents of the stomach into the small
intestine causing the morning rise in blood sugar. The problem with the
sphincter is caused by neural damage due to years of high blood sugar
levels. Its just something diabetics learn to deal with.

I thought it was the lowest in the morning. Are you sure it's the
highest? It's supposed to be the highest after eating. Especially after
a meal that has carbs unbalanced with protein.
