Regarding the cluttered archives:   It seems to me that there is MUCH
too much extraneous information that results from one-line replies such
as "thanks for the information,"  sent to the list rather than an
individual, and also from various "humorous" rejoinders and such.   I
think that it would be hard for the list owner to cut out these
essentially worthless bits from all the replies;  list members have to
take responsibility for that, I think.
