Hi Robert,

This is amazing! The strongest cs I have ever made is still clear!

After several hours it seems to have turned the slightest shade of
straw, but then it stopped. If you hold it up to the light, it is
crystal clear. There is no sign of plate-out whatsoever.

The key seems to use large surface area rods, run at very low current
and applied voltage, and brew for a long time.

This is a tremendous breakthrough for me. I have never seen results
this good. Thank you for posting your information on clear cs!

The previous ULVDC batch made with thermal stirring is still crystal
clear. According to the salt test, it is about the same strength as I
normally make, and it would have turned yellow and started plating
out by now.

I started a new run using the standard two rod setup. It has a 51k in
series with a 9V battery for a current of around 120uA. The wetted
area is 0.9 sq. inch, which gives about 133 uA / sq. in. The
electrode voltage started at 2.5V and is just passing 2.0V after
3hrs.

The voltage is a bit higher than I would like and it is decreasing
much slower than I wanted. Unfortunately, the glass is quite a bit
larger than I wanted but it was the only thing that would fit the
lid.

But this will be a good test to see how close to the ionization
potential of water affects the result. Thanks for pointing that out,
I had not picked it up searching the archives.

More news later...

Best Regards,

Mike Monett
