I concur with Marshall's observation. One protocol we
utilized with excellent results......on chronic ear problems of a type
similar to those you report, is as follows: Use H202 (at 3.5%)
copiously....as an ear canal drench. I suggest using a 5 to 10 cc
syringe (with no needle attached) and introduce a minimum of 5 cc per
ear. Because of massive mucous interference, two, succeeding
applications are probably in order-----for the initial treatment. There
will be very pronounced foaming as the anaerobic environment is modified
by the action of H202. Allow several minutes for the pronounced
reduction (foaming) to fade, then repeat the H202 protocol. Allow 5
minutes for the second application to stabilize. Next, carefully remove
the easily-accessible portion of the foam/debris residue with absorbent
cotton balls. Be gentle, conditions of this type which are of a
long-standing nature can cause very sensitive insults. Using a mixture
of 5% or 10% DMSO (by volume), plus 10% to 20% (or higher) Colloidal
Silver (88% of the parent mixture) and (if it was my dog) 2% (by volume)
of 2% strength Lidocaine, Procaine, etc. [any good topical
anaesthetic]. The Lidocaine provides a splendid measure of pain relief
for the sensitive/raw insulted tissue. Even then, the dog may display
signs of measureable discomfort......however, they should subside within
about 5 minutes. The discomfort feature should disappear by the third
treatment.
This experimental protocol should be repeated twice
daily for 7 days minimum......or until favorable resolution has been
achieved. Even after favorable resolution, we found it adviseable to
continue Colloidal Silver plus 1% DMSO mixture every two days for at
least one month. This, latter measure is good insurance against
deeper-tissue reservoirs of pathogenic nature.....re-establishing
themselves.
I hope this information is of value to you and mykl
very best wishes for the recovery and continuing good health of your
loving companion.
                                    Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
p.s. As an afterthought, I would recommend using only 5% (by volume)
DMSO, not 10%. The reason being that while DMSO is not a tissue-burner,
it is a "heat-releaser" and can cause noticeable pain upon initial
contact with compromised tissue. We encountered this effect with
non-healing ulcer volunteers.....some years past.
