Hi Ed; Chicory Inulin is a particularly long-chain sugar - longer than FOS. It's a soluble fiber that only the correct bacteria can digest. It will thus, as a prebiotic and as a fiber, fit in well with your dietary and probiotic therapy for the daughter's bowel problem. I feel it may be the missing ingredient, as constipation is easily caused by incorrect bowel flora. To make the probiotic colonize sometimes it's helpful do do tiny retentive enemas to deliver the probiotic to where it's most needed, without running the gauntlet of the upper digestive tract.
<snip> Food, probiotic, water are what we are working on. BTW, local health agency denies any connection to vaccines. I am a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. These interventions work but my efforts have not gotten to the root of the problem. Again as TCM and most people agree DIET is the key. </snip> regards, Duncan Crow -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
