I've kept an aquarium for over 10 years...CS WILL KILL YOUR FISH AND RENDER YOUR POND INCAPABLE OF SUPPORTING LIFE!
A friend mistakenly poured some CS in her tank and had to start over... An algae bloom is caused by an imbalance in your water...and maybe the sunshine and warmer temperatures add to the growth...check and balance the pH...neutral to slightly alkaline...pull out the algae manually...try algae eaters...but make sure you remove them when the temperature changes...fish stores should take them back in the fall and will probably replace them next year since yours will be nice and fat and worth more...try carbon filtration...ask some of the fish stores on the web for help...but no CS...ever!
