Harold, All you need is one coin for the positive lead. The negative lead can be brass wire.
If you would heat one coin red hot and drop it in water them you could flatten it out and make a much larger surface. The surface areas does make a great difference. If you read my post "the last 50 minutes" you should know that a large anode and small cathode makes a superior product.
