This is just a guess but I think that the thermal stirring has something to do
with your CS being clear. I don't know if it being plugged into the wall makes
a difference in the quality

Hi Jean -

I bought the $99 generator from www.silverpuppy.com (this price included
shipping and handling also). Since I'm still new to this I can't describe
exactly what "type" this generator is. It has 7" curved silver rods, plugs
into the wall, and has thermal stirring (so sorry if I butchered the REAL
description, Ken!). I'm assuming I did everything correctly.... my rods were
grayish, I only wiped off a small amount of residue from the rods after each
batch, it's crystal clear, and has a small metallic taste.. Hope this was
helpful?

Hi Ruth,

What kind of generator do you have? and what company did you buy it from?

Wow... DOUBLE THANKS to Ken!! I ordered my generator a week ago yesterday
(5/22) and received it on Tuesday, 5/27 - and Monday was a holiday for the post
office.

I just bought the WalMart brand of distilled water, and my CS is crystal clear.
  Hope this helps.

Ruth

Subject: CS>Question regarding DW ( distilled water ) and color of CS

Hi CS'rs,

I've finally received my generator ( WhooHoo! sorry I've been waiting since Mid
April ) anyway I was wondering if any old DW with work or if I should be buying
a name brand? Also the color of the CS is a light amber, is this O.K. or
should I be striving for clear, if so what should I do to make it clear?

Thanx
Jean
