My herbal books say that tinnitus is part of a syndrome of blood deficiency
and goes along with dizziness, weakened vision, lethargy, palpitations,
skin dryness, poor memory, palor, and weak thready pulse. Or liver
deficiency, see below. Treatment would be through blood tonics, or tonics
for the liver. A formula of blood tonic Chinese Herbs is:
Chief:
Rehmannia, cooked
Lycium berries (Wolfberry, taste good to me)
Chrysanthemum flowers
Polygonatum multiflorum ( Ho Shu Wu)
Ligustrum lucidum
Saw Palmetto berries
Assisting:
Cornus berries
Moutan Peoplny root
Poria
Alisma
Supporting:
Dioscorea (Wild Yam)

Sometimes you can find them at a good Chinese grocery if they are labeled
in English. Research herbs before taking, but to my way of thinking, many
"medicinal" herbs and fruits are foods we eliminate with our narrow Western
diet, that we might have consumed if living as more primitive people do who
use more of the plants in their environment. All fruits and vegetables we
eat have a medicinal effect on the body, nourishing and bringing about
health and healing.

Deficient liver symptoms would be dry, dull eyes, poor vision, night
blindness, dizzines, tinnitus, and dry brittle nails. Helpful tonic herbs
would be Donq Quai, Black Sesame seeds ground and eaten with honey, 2 tsp
to 3 Tblsp per day, Aloe vera, Iceland Moss, Asparagus root, Borage leaf,
Slippery Elm, Longan berries, Marshmallow root, and the following fruits:
Mulberry, Blackberry, Raspberry, Huckleberry, Black Currant, dark Grapes,
and also Blackstrap molasses.

An old friend visited last week and said he had tinnitus, and while driving
he ran 4 stop signs. Fortunately we were in the country.

Thankful to be alive, Nancy
