As a kombucha mushroom brewer I have been contemplating on getting local high school and community colleges to "study" kombucha mushrooms. This unique creature has many health benefits, is very cheap to grow (actually ferment) ) and replicates every 6-8 days. What a science project. Same parameters could apply to CS production. Talk to a local high school science teacher about a class project. My idea is if this was done in just a dozen high school classrooms and then maybe a few community colleges it would embarrass the major universities to take a look. At least we could help teach the youth to keep their eyes open.
