It's a standard precaution to do this against possible terrorist contamination of large public water supplies... Here in Rhode Island, We have the Scituate Reservoir. The water quality was very good, prior to The Sept/11 Terrorist Attacks, but now I can literally smell the chlorine, and it's been increased in our water by (4x). In terms of toxicity, Our water quality has been chemically rendered worse than that of Venice Italy... "They Stick to Bottled Wine there... Jim, call up your local water treatment plant, and quiz them... It's best to go find a local spring if you can, fill up a lot of jugs, and then distill it for your C.S. needs...
