All I know is that the water that comes out of my dehumidifier is so bad it
not only stinks but stops up the 5/8 inch hose every year with a gook of
dust, smoke and bacteria eating the stuff.  A dehumidifier takes out smoke,
dust, and any odors that have a low vapor point, and they all end up in the
water where bacteria form a slimy sludge.  If there is any light available
you can add alage to that mix as well.
