Neo-tec air ionizer works OK but you'll need a few of them
Ionic Breeze works well, but pricey and you may still need more than one.
Look on ebay
These are stand alone units which don't cycle all the air like a whole
house unit but they do help a lot.
Placing a bank of them in front of the cold air return or in front of the
AC window unit will probably be best.
Also check into electrostatic furnace filters if you have a central air
handler.

Hello,
I am living in rental property and I can not install anything, do you
know if there is a portable air purifier that is not very expensive and
can clear the air of cigarette smoke? I live with a smoker and he
will not stop smoking.
Thanks, shirley

Call your local heating and air people. You should be able to get a
whole house electronic air purifier/filter/ionizer installed in the duct
work for around $500.
Most HVAC people have them in stock.
I've had one for years it works quite well. I paid $500
installed...clears a room full of woodsmoke in minutes.
Do you Yahoo!?
