Catherine's comment is right on the mark, Mike. This Gubi person
probably has nothing to do with it other than their e-mail address
appearing somewhere on the infected machine where the virus program
can harvest it for use.

The only proper defense against this sort of thing is to run good
antivirus software at all times and try your best to set the options on
your e-mail program to not run anything from an attachment without
amply warning you.

I've made an effort to keep viruses from getting through the list
server, but it is certainly not bulletproof. But there is *nothing* I
can do to prevent posters to the list being targeted by this kind of
virus since every subscriber gets your messages which will contain
your e-mail address. Add to that people forwarding stuff, and soon your
address will be on thousands of machines, any of which might get
infected and target you, or even start masquerading as you.

I see a steady stream of bounce and/or warning messages to my various
addresses from systems that have been hit by virus generated traffic
that appear to be from me or from the list server. There's not a lot
anybody can do yet, other than protect themselves and keep their
machines clean.

Be careful, be well,
