I use three nine volt batteries wired directly to the silver, if I dont turn the stirer on I will always see mist within 10 min, The mist seems to be affected by gravity as it seems to "flow" towards the bottom. As I turn the stirer on I see the mist swirl around and disispate into the dw. Before I started to use a stirer my cs would turn a slight golden colour by the next day, with the stirer it stays as clear as dw. regards
