The entire city of San Luis Potosi, population 1.1 million, has relied exclusively on CS to treat its city water for 40 years.
The reason Microdyn is so widely used because Mexico does not have US standard water treatment facilities in most cities, just like many rural US cities. That's just a fact of life. If it wasn't for CS, Mexico would be a hotbed of widespread contagious illnesses, like some nations in the Far East.
