Ephedra supplements have caused less than 25 reported deaths, ever! Aspirin causes hundreds, or more, every year.
The Pharm industry is using this to get the FDA to put more controls on the supplements and herbals that seriously cut into their profits. The aim, of course, is to get all herbal and supplement products off the market, and only be available by prescription, in small doses. This has been done in Australia and European countries. If it happens here you can kiss goodbye your option to "cure" disease with alternative means. No more Linus Pauling therapy with Vitamin C and common amino acids that cured patients with terminal cancer and cardio vascular disease that needed heart bypass operations. No more Graviola, saw palmetto or Lycopene to cure prostate cancer. No more niacin to reduce cholestrol without statin drugs with dangerous side effects. Etc., etc. etc. Dick ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 22, 2003 2:56 AM Subject: CS>Fed handling of dietary supplement Ephedra > C-SPAN2 has been carrying the "House Energy & Commerce Sub-committee on > Dietary Supplement Ephedra", revealing devastating consequences (like > death) from its use.
